LS – last summer my mother fell & broke her shoulder and her knee – she had surgeries through the fall & was in a wheelchair for a couple of months
she’s still healing & probably needs one more surgery on her knee to remove a ‘temporary’ cable they put around her kneecap to hold it in place while she healed

rf . . . i think closing for 3 hours is . . . well . . . i mean isn’t the whole premise of ww that we all sit glued to computer screens forever looking for some stupid *edited self* fairy that may or may not give us prizes or steal our stars??? so, closing for 3 hours just seems kind of silly to me . . . but i’m not angry or anything . . . if it makes one child go ride a bike or play outside, then it’s worth it for me – i certainly won’t die without ww for 3 hours . . .

ps moms…the word hypocritical keeps popping in my head every time I see the ad for get out and play, etc. My three grands are very active, outdoors, and the eldest is heavily involved in sports(soccer at the moment). It’s their gramma who is going blind doing peeks, floaters, treasure hunts, clicking purple witches and falling leaves, and watching POTM and movie videos. 😐

I dont understand why they thing closing ww for a few hours is going to help anyone. Theres plenty of other websites that kids can go on, as well as tv and video games. Unless they intend to completely shut down the internet and take away the tv and video games from kids, they arent going to get many kids outside.

beta is usually bad, very very bad, they are using you to test the software and it can make other things in your computer go wonga wonga.
my advice is to get the IE 9 beta off your system and use firefox browser instead, lol

fading fast here, almost nap time for me, the kittenz are napping now. Laid down to sleep early, for me, last night, woke to escaping kitten once, woke to being used for a kitten playground a couple times and they had been up since 4:40-ish.. zzzz lol
Doing the peeks, like momsk said yesterday, got some older items, the yellow sweater for one, not a good assortment of items.
Are there pants to go with the hat and jacket and galooshes?

I felt/feel the same about my littlez, crazy. So many are eager to send the little ones off to preschool etc. The time with mom is very very important and teaches them how to have a deep real relationship with people. I felt kindergarten was enough time to learn to interact with others in a school format. I prepared my kids scholastically from birth, not leaving them blank slates til they started school. I found so many that didn’t really teach their kids anything, no math, reading, writing, etc before school. The kids are only little such a short time, the value for them to spend the time with mom is life long.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s sad & scary just how upset some of the people on WI are getting about WW shutting down for 3hrs on Saturday? Everyone has a right to their opinion or even to be bummed but some of those people are freaking out! While I think this is just a PC move by Ganz the level of anger by some is disturbing. It’s only 3hrs I mean come on.

Good evening! I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off….. as usual.
Yesterday was especially bad. DH’s captain decided at 7pm last night to go on a 5 day long line fishing trip and asked us to go get boat groceries. Then announced he wanted to put ice aboard the boat at 2am. Thanks for the advance notice, buddy! 🙄

dee – i checked at walmart today – again . . . no special & yummy halloween m&m’s . . . but target had some CUTE Halloween tin things – buckets & “cut out” things to put a battery operated tealight that will be SO cute . . .
and bath & body works has cute Halloween hand santizers that will be good for the teachers . . .
so at least all of today’s “running around” wasn’t a total waste

i can give ya tips or local support groups if ya need. it gets stressful and it is okay to ask for help whether it is in caregiver or mental form

Make a simple photo album to help them remember people, put an old picture by a recent one with the name to help them associate(remember) who people are. Making the first picture Jesus helps even the very ill seem to recognize Him.
When they’re “out of it” or in the past don’t try & force them into the present you’ll just upset them as well as yourself.

Sometimes my Grampa would talk to me like I was someone else. I never took it personal. He’d sit & reminisce about things we’d done together. I would just sit & listen. I learned things about him & places he’d been I might not have ever known had he not gotten ill. I still miss him. He’ll be one of the first people I look for in heaven 🙂

if this is my biggest gripe, I should be very thankful. Even clearing the cache, when I click to open my dock I’m saying ‘don’t crash’ over and over and over again aaaaand it crashes! I was on a roll with timing the leaves, but Hedwig was hungry. How did I KNOW the blasted dock would was going to crash? I just KNEW it!! 😥

gramma, what browser are you using?
I usually ONLY use FF but I can only open my dock after MANY tries during the course of the day.
This morning I was so fed up with FF crashing that I tried IE and it open each time I tried it.

Krafty, I use FF. Only occasionally had crash troubles til I went over 3000 items; now it’s crashing on a regular basis. 🙁

i’m watching the nightmare before Christmas…i just love it!!!!!!!
and now that i’m feeling feverish idk if i am gonna bake a cake or not this weekend. i would like to feel good if i’m gonna eat it.

gramma, same here with the Flash crashing all the time in FF, giant pain in the browser! It was ok til version 10, then horrible, then a little better with the update, then another update and worse and now… I hope one day they will fix it.. until then I might have to use IE for my account, really ticks me off
