I heard my neck crack earlier, now the side of my neck hurts and its kind of hard to swallow… too bad no one in my house cares, as always. My mom says its because i dont exercise enough (her excuse for everything) but i doubt it.

RF , sorry your hurting..and yeah work can suck..
I also love to cook..so Dee and I have that in common..actually while I was waiting for a response here, I was making a strawberry/peach pie..of course I cheated..it’s more like a fruit tart..and one crust not two..lol
I had two cans of strawberries and two cans peaches..was wondering what to do so I came up with this..bake one shell…cool..in a sauce pan combine 3/4 cup to 1cup of the strawberry liquid from the cans. drain the rest of the fruit and cut up. add 1/2 cup sugar,3 tbls cornstarch and one pkg (4serving) strawberry jello cook on med 5-7 mins till liquid goes clear (if it remains cloudy at and of time add a tiny bit more juice till it clears) let cool 5 min and then add the fruit, toss to coat it good and pour into the cooled pie shell..figure it will need to chill for 3-4 hours..and I plan on topping it with whip cream.
I have never done this before so I am flying by the seat of my pants..but will admit I tried the filling..yum..I think it will be good..can’t wait to try it on my guy! lol
and Dee, kudos to you on being a mom AND going to school! and how special are those brownies??? lol

RF LOL I can speak very little..but can read more more my guy’s father was teaching me he spoke and wrote 6 languages!( OSI in military)..I admit to using a translator to write to dee it’s kinda of a harsh language on the ears…specially when someone tell you they love you..right Dee? lol and I promise I didn’t say anything bad! lol

and RF?? I can read and understand most Spanish, and French too…lol but my tongue HATES twisting.lol so I speak it terribly..lol I was married to a Spanish man…his mother used to cringe when I would try to speak it! lol BUT I learned to sing in it go figure! and I actually impressed his mother as she understood me! except one word..and she corrected my pronunciation on that one! lol

LOL, RF! sure you can mail me tins…I will make you special chocolates! lol what woman doesn’t love chocolate..I doubt I can compete with De on the cookies..but on cakes maybe..lol wink wink!
I also love to cook big elaborate meals..and even finally learned to make escargot!
it isn’t the easiest dish to perfect..let me tell you. it took me a whole year to get it down on paper properly! My guy loves those things..(he is French) and he is quite the critic! lol and I give him credit he ate them even when they weren’t perfect! lol and it’s not a cheap dish to make either! If I could grow them I would just to make him happy…but then I would have to kill them and prepare them…ewwww.. rather just buy them in the cans! lol
I am the youngest of 4 girls..and the one who tool to cooking and baking not to mention so much else..I just call myself a Jill of all trades, mistress of none! lol
I am always trying something new..
as to the basement..first time in 5 years that it wasnt up to my whoo whoo! and the fan is drying it out, no water left just dampness now..it never got above 2 inches at any time! that new pump worked wonders! only took my guy 5 darn years to come around to the fact that replacing the washer and dryer every year was more expensive! LOL

RF my native tongue is English which is why I speak the other stuff properly! lol I tend to butcher it, Italian is so close to Spanish that I can pretty much read that too.
and It is sad when families do not share stuff like that, My guy’s parents spoke French it was their first language, yet only the oldest spoke it! the others never learned it..not sure why. I remember them having a conversation one time and they switched to French then apologized to me and told me they weren’t talking about me..imagine their surprise when I said I hadn’t taken offense as I knew most of whet they said and knew it wasn’t about me! I am just glad it wasn’t something “private” lol they were careful with me around after that! lol

dee, is there a website listing what should be in an evacuation bag(s)? I think the weather channel site has one; I was thinking more military like you’ve made mention of previously. What do you do about pictures? I took a suitcase FULL of pictures, in frames, weighed about 85lbs. Told dh it will take awhile(maybe a year), but I want to scan all my pictures and save them on flash drives.

the pictures are a big concern of mine. We’ve never actually left the house in an evacuation mode. I was like a crazy lady running around here getting ready to leave. AND you think of dumb things(at least I did) when you’re verging panic. I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, did two loads of laundry, and ran the dishwasher while I was packing and grabbing my treasures. 🙄 I even packed new undies! We also had pool furniture to pack away and a patio full of potted plants had to be moved into the garage. Thankfully, we were spared the brunt of Irene. Those poor people further north are still being evacuated because of flooding that started yesterday! and several towns in Vermont needed to have supplies dropped in; their roads all washed away. It’s devastating.
