    Hello everyone! hope you are all safe and dry!

    so far so good here!! my hoodoovoodoo seems to have worked LMBO at myself and my silly superstitions..

    basement now has water..pumps are handling it well!!! power of course is still on!
    my relief crew of one has taken over so maybe I can sleep?? after all I did the hard part of unsticking a pump and setting the other one up..lol he just needs to watch that the free standing pump doesn’t run dry..lol

    Men swear they are next to useless at times!

    I did read up on everyone..chicks with chainsaws has me in stitches! lol

    so far lucky no trees down in immediate area..BUT my sisters back yard flooded and her lawn equipment shed is collapsing and it wasn’t a cheapy either! not to mention her new riding mower was in it..oh man is she ticked off..but at least she is safe and dry..

    as to our kid..thanks moms..I thought the same thing ! lol
    haven’t heard from him so far..but where he is working was declared state of emergency and two fire fighters were shocked..both lived, but they have not released the names yet..I just hope he calls when he can to let me know he is ok.
    but I am sure he is tired and feeling like dog poop about now..

    yeah that poop word popped up again…lol sorry..

    I am gonna try to get a few hours sleep…hopefully the relief crew can handle it now..lol and hopefully the worst is over…

    HOWDY!!!! we’re got home around 9:30am; both girls and their families came home too. dd2 and us live on the same street; we had/have electric, but no cable(tv,phone,internet). Cable came on around 1:15. dd1 has no electricity; Mom doesn’t either(she’s walking distance from us). Our neighbor next door and the one behind us(with the chickens) don’t have electric. We’ve been blessed for sure.

    It’s been raining steady, but light since early this morning; winds seem to be picking up again. Our yard looks exactly like Ro described hers. ‘Course the pool is a mess with clumps of leaves, singles, and twigs. That’s ok, least the big oak isn’t tipped into the pool of crashed on our roof. We’ve been blessed.

    Thank you all so much for your prayers! Γ’β„’Β₯ I read up from the other thread and seems we’ve all had some challenges, but again we’ve been blessed. I pray for all those still battling the wind, rain, and flooding.

    btw, flooding wasn’t an issue at our own house; the predicted wicked wind with Irene aiming right at us, fearing downed trees and wires, is what sent us off to, what we thought, a safer location. Then watching the weather last night in our hotel room, those dang tornado warnings kept popping up! Our house was in the path of one(no we didn’t get it), and further north where we were staying was in the path of another one!!! neither one got us. We’ve been blessed.

    Hi moms! getting home was a breeze. dh took three highways and two roads; only one spot closer to home had water on the road, with workers putting out cones. We almost had the roads to ourselves; which was a bit creepy, but made for a fast trip home. There’s no place like home! (borrowed from Dorothy)

    Looks like all we’re going to get out of it is some wind. Unless Irene totally switches directions and moves SE, we won’t get any rain at all.

    I’m not complaining in the least, just to clarify.

    So glad that everyone is okay (except RF’s face! OUCH!). We’re like the sweetest little family checking in on/praying for each other. Doesn’t it make you feel all warm and gushy inside? hehehe

    yep, warm and fuzzy! πŸ™‚ Alisha, Irene’s shift just a bit to the west was what saved us at the shore from getting the full face brunt of her. Also, she dropped rather quickly from a cat 3 to a cat1. We are blessed.

    This humidity is a KILLER! We have been at 100% or close to it ALL DAY! It’s only 75 but feels like in the mid 90’s! April and June just lay around panting all the time. I finally got them cooled off by giving them some ice cubes and aiming a fan right at them. Poor babies.

    DH is on his way home but won’t be here for another 2 hours.

    I just want to go out and sit in my truck with the AC on. πŸ˜†

    We’ve got a creek behind the house but we’re way up the bank, so we’re safe. Good thing too, since it has risen about five feet over its bank!

    My husband was out after dinner with the chainsaw. We have one downed tree that we’re calling in the professionals for, but he can handle the limbs. It’s a small tree, only ten feet tall, so it didn’t hit the house.

    alisha…warm and gushy made me laugh… and I almost GOT warm and gushy cause then I coughed! lol

    yes It ‘s a nice feeling knowing there are friends out there caring about you..like a BIG warm hug!

    I am down to using one pump right now..and I am so thankful we kept the power..but you can bet I will be a naggin” till that generator gets a new carburetor!

    ain’t now way no how I am getting caught with my pants down again! lol ohh that sounded bad..lol but you get my drift I am sure..just chalk it up to potty talk from a very tired and punch drunk (wish I had some punch with vodka in it) woman..and I have yet to go out into the yard to asses the damage there…though I KNOW there are branches to be picked up.

    @ moms..yeah we did get hit hard..but I swera there was something to all my mumbo jumbo prayers last night as it turned just enough to take the worst away from where I live! I have heard from our boy..hs is home and tired..and as we were talking got called back..poor kid..but he is getting experience..and doing something good with his life. my old house got flooded I heard and the the whole area I lived in just 4 years ago…got it bad! all my family is well and have power..so that good too!

    unfortunately there are the dummies you get,,,two men decided to go out in a canoe ..one got saved the other still missing..and then you get the ones who thought it would be fun to go inner tubing! 3 missing…what were they thinking????

    I’m just glad everyone here seems to be safe!

    Believe it or not Enchanted, in my area, there were people out there driving around during the worst part of the hurricane! I was ready to put on my slicker and go out there and ask them what the heck they were doing, but then I wasn’t dumb enough to be outside in that mess. πŸ˜€

    Ok moms???? I HAD to clean my keyboard thanks to the Johnson comment..lol I just happened to be taking a drink…thanks goodness it was only water..

    Well im ticked. I got my schedule today and i have gym AND swimming first trimester. Swimming first hour, and gym last hour………… not gonna happen… I ended up talking to the principal about it when we were dealing with some stupid locker situation and he said that its possible that i could have the gym class changed, but i most likely wont be able to get the swimming classes changed… lovely. I also need to call the school back tomorrow to see about getting my locker moved because they put it in the tech wing for the second year in a row.

    some of you may know this but..

    For Adventure Park, when you mini quest your friend, they get a different quest/prize than you get

    took me and dd two days to figure out why she was not seeing what I saw.
    good, as you do not get duplicates of prizes
    bad, as you do not get duplicates of prizes

    and….dd and I are the only ones listed on here under adventure park friends

    Evening ladies! My husband and two of our neighbors are out front right now dismembering my dogwood that blew over during the hurricane. I’m glad because we won’t have to pay the tree removal guys, but I’m sad because I loved that tree. We only planted it like two and half years ago. πŸ™ The sounds of the chainsaw trio are driving me crazy though. πŸ˜€

    Do we have any clue when this Nafaria event is going to start? Maybe the fairy can tell us? I can’t wait for it. I love those prizes!!!

    dee, you get your quest assigned when you first adopt your pet. And you can only trade quests with people on your friends list that have AP pets. My kid and I traded quests that we didn’t have duplicates of. We both have the crocodile hunter quest, the she sells seashells quest, and the treasure trove quest. (Between the two of us, we got 1 treasure trove, 2 she sells seashells, and 3 crocodile hunter quests.) I’d be happy to trade a quest with you if we’re allowed to do that here. Just let me know which one you want: crocodile hunter or she sells seashells (prizes are the crocodile pool and the Salley’s seashell art). If you have the cave potato crock pot quest, the lightning cake quest, or the griffin guardian quest, those are the ones we need. I don’t know why they didn’t assign mini quests to each pet, that way I wouldn’t have any duplicates.

    I got the griffin statue and dds quest is for the crocodile pond
    I just assumed same pet for each acct would get same prizes and quests.

    yes unmarked pets will work dee, because the AP tag doesn’t have a code. The AP feature is activated when you adopt one of the pets from AP so the adoption code activates it.

    Hello everyone! of course looks like no one is here.. again…lol

    I do have the adventure pets all but the chimp..I did all the quests already lol and most of the mini’s but have another mud hippo for my 2nd account! I actually like this..can’t wait for the daily quests to start! lol

    I only dislike one thing..that all that diggin on the mini quests only gets you wshop stuff..that kinda ticks me off..a little
    anywho.. as to what you can get away with onWW for pet names..you would probably be shocked..it’s all in changing the letters so the filters don’t catch you..

    my guy love to give me..shall we say not so proper names to try on here?? lol
    he named my bulldog b******k uhhuh..you saw that right…lol you really DON”T want to kow the others..though I guess if your on my friend list you could look on my page thingy! lol I hope I didn’t offend telling you that name..and if you have to delete this I will not take offense! lol just had to share..still think the rooster names are hilarious. *edited by momskinz πŸ˜‰

    You know..I have to say, I really was blessed by the fact that I made it through this storm without major problems..I know a lot of people didn’t fare as well here and I am saddened for them.

    My cellar is in the drying out stage already I have my huge floor fan going..and one more day should do it..to think earlier this year(spring thaw) I got flooded to my whoo whoo..and this time less then 2 inches high the whole time…what a great pump we bought! well worth the money!

    I haven’t had problems with Spree loading, or not more or less than before, lol but that is usually but not always the first daily I do. Check rares, etc first or hourlies

    Long car rides…. fun… i am so ready to get home.
    This little internet card thingy has its advantages, but its still pretty slow, but i probably shouldnt be complaining because at least it lets me have internet in the car. Its too slow to get WW to work properly, and i cant adopt the little Oriole i got last night until i get home.

    My mom got a call from the school earlier about my new locker, i have to call them back tomorrow to find out where it is and what the combination is. I still having gotten my schedule taken care of, i probably have to wait until school starts for that. I wanna get the gym class switched to another trimester and get swimming moved to 5th or 6th hour. Then maybe i’ll ask about getting environmental science switched to astronomy or something.
