I’m so bummed about the Wacky event. I haven’t had hardly ANY time to play. I got ONE free ride wacky hat and not even the entire complete outfit from WackyER Zingoz. I have 3 pairs of the pants and one shirt. 🙁 😡

howdy! we did some shopping this morning; eats and a few things to make us more comfy. dh just went off to find the Golfsmith store. Think I’ll work on peeks.
the tv stations here are the same ones we get at home. Alot of the coverage is showing our area, so we can see what’s going on at home.
Been in touch with both our girls and their families. They’re up this way in hotels too. If it wasn’t so sad, dd1’s story would be funny. dh talked to dd2 and they’re all doing well. Both girls dogs have adjusted to hotel living like pros.

Flow, we all had to evacuate. Put it this way, it was a mandatory evacuation order by the governor of NJ. Our neighbors stayed, our friends stayed; you stay at your own risk. We felt it was better to leave for a few days as Irene’s track showed her landing right on us. 😯
We got hotel rooms about 90mins NW of where we all live. BUT, we’re all in separate hotels because they needed dog friendly rooms AND finding a hotel with vacancies was difficult as of Thurs. night. dh called 5 before he found one with available rooms.

Hey RF!! Hi everyone else. Sorry to be such a stranger to the blog.
I wanted to stop in and let you know that we are, and have been, and will be safe and fine. We are far enough inland that we just got a lot of wind and rain. No damage at all. 🙂
Gymbo is even further west and should be fine also.
Irene is rough on the coast, but we are just getting a very wet and windy day. The only victim was our flowering tree that has littered our front yard with pink blossoms.
Wacky week was a bust for us as it was the first week of homeschooling this year. I didn’t think that the wackys were floating very often on either wk or wk newz. JR got one hat and two candy bats. No big prize. Also a pair of Zingoz pants from the wackier game. We have not tried to go to the adventure park yet.
We are packing to go to visit my parents in PA (will be there all week). Maybe we’ll get more fun PC time there than we get here. We are all fine and healthy. I sure do miss chatting with my Gymbo friends. Sending out hugs to all my buddies. Hope to chat soon. ♥ miss you!

here is what I wrote on FB status…LOL Thought I would share it with you all..I am a little worried, and needed a laugh…not to mention he is = banished to the garage till that thing is fixed! lol JK..well maybe not..lol

OK… my basement floods..I KNOW this…
Had to replace the washer AND dryer(TWICE) and the hot water heater..once..
Finally talked Eric into BUYING(yes finally) a(second) really good pump..I have everything I can in plastic..and up above knee height..and two pumps.
problem is..
Eric decided to forget to fix the generator…(after being nagged by me to do so how could he FORGET???)
*** reminder to self..if basement floods because the electricity goes out..smack my boyfriend..HARD! LOL ***
Moral of the story…nagging doesn’t work…lol

OK, so far so good..it’s 1:17 am and no water in the basement..not a drop!
OK you all don’t know me real well here but I am superstitious lol yep Irish mother..lol not to mention some native Indian in the blood..even if it’s a small amount. I grabbed my sage smudge stick and lit it up threw angelica root to the four corners of my basement and recited a prayer..while sprinkling holy water at the four corners! lol
yep I know…crazy..and I rearranged everything down there..all up above hip level..and I mean everything! lol
then I yelled at the storm and told it to stop…lol yeah like that will work! but hey I’m willing to try anything right now to ward off the evil flooding! lol
would you believe me if I told you that for an hour and half after I did this it hasn’t rained? ..of course I KNOW I didn’t stop it lol..but hey..it SEEMED to work..and like I said anything goes right now.
I have candles and oil lamps, and a gas stove..city water..so even if the electric goes out should be ok…unless the rain stays heavy…time will tell. no flickering of the lights at this point..but I will be up all night ..have to be, the guys are sleeping and I am on pump patrol! lol
Now I will also tell you that our ( actually my guy’s kid not mine but hey I helped raise him!)youngest (21 year old) is now a fire fighter! he called to talk to me tonight as he was on his way into the firehouse..he was scared( but didn’t want to admit it till we were hanging up..but I told him I already knew as after all I did raise him even IF I am not his mom) this is his first emergency work like this and they scared the poop out of the poor kid at a big town meeting…I reassured him all will be well, and to be careful and follow his elders instructions! he told me that they told him that if a place catches fire..they will NOT go to the scene unless there are trapped people..the place will burn. they will NOT rescue anyone in a car accident and put their lives at risk if the winds are really strong..that person will have to wait till after the storm. the police started out at 7:30 pm getting everyone off the roads..they want no one on the roads after 12 pm except emergency ..and if you need an ambulance? lol good luck..if the winds are bad they aren’t coming! that is how they are handling it here in CT..of course WE as the public aren’t supposed to KNOW this..but you know I kinda understand it..why should they risk themselves when we were all told to go the heck home and stay there??? we have had plenty of warning here. so I really can’t fault them in the least.
as to our kid..his dad was right here and he really didn’t want to talk to him
( made him talk to him anyway)..not sure why..he for some reason wanted to hear my voice..probably because I stay so calm in bad situations..and I KNOW what he is getting himself into as my father was a firefighter..and I went to a lot of fires with him(long story) I know our kid could get injured..but at the same time I am so very proud of our boy for volunteering for this kind of work..it’s not easy work..and he has just seen his first really nasty fatal accident…(got that phone call too lol) I admit to having shielded him to this stuff in the past as much as possible..but I am here and I know he can handle it with our support. bless his little heart!

Hello everyone..still here lol it’s 4:32 am..and STILL no water in my basement!!
the winds are rocking our trees and tiny pieces have been hitting the house and windows making me jump every now and then lol they are saying it looks like it might be getting a little weaker..we’ll see. They are saying there has been 10 or more deaths so far..so sad. my heart goes out to their family and friends. I am hoping from what I am seeing that the worst of the rain will not hit us..but again time will tell. no power problems so far..it does look like the heaviest of the rain will be off to the west of me…they have just issued a tornado watch till 11am in my area..great..lol I figure I will know by 7 am how bad the flooding will be here..I just want to get this over with..the wait is worse then the event itself I think..
weather station says the wind has gone down to 65-70 mph from 85 thats a good sign. right?? lol I am getting tired..hoping someone will wake up early and relieve me…lol

ok..have to get off the internet now as the power went out once already for just a few seconds…lol it’s ^am now..winds getting stronger and I heard a huge crack outback of my house..wonder if a tree came down…I just know it sounded terrible..lol I will check back in when I can..and still no water…lol and the storm turned a little..lol all my hoodoo might have worked…lol yeah I wish! lol

Irene has recently moved off where we live and it looks clear. Between flooding and downed trees, I think it’s doubtful the route home from where we’re staying will be clear to return. I’ll keep you posted. â™¥

DH made it home at 2:30, but had to leave at 3 with his Uncle to drive almost 4 hours to take his bow course. 🙄 He won’t be home until around 10 or 11 tonight I figure – when Irene will be at her worst. MEN! 🙄 Please pray for his safety *cough*and ignorance*cough* 😉
Luckily we are only supposed to get 1.25″ of rain and 60mph wind gusts. Heck, that’s a normal storm for us at times. During the Winter it’s not unusual to get 100mph winds for no reason at all! 😯 That’s how we lost over half the shingles off our roof when our house was only 3 months old. 😯

It is SO HUMID here it’s unreal. I’ve already dumped the dehumidifier once today. I’ve been dumping it at least 3 times a day lately anyway, probably be at least 4 or 5 today alone. 😯 It’s only a 25 pint one.. it’s times like this I wish we had a bigger one.

Humidity is 100%…… temp is 70 but feels like 86! The girls got all sweaty and stinky (wet dog! YUCK) so I’ve been going around trying to clean a little bit and it’s impossible. The swiffer sweeper won’t even glide across the floor – I have to shove it! It’s sooooooo sticky here. 🙁
I’m off to take a cold shower. 😯
