Things are getting busy again, peeps!  Webkinz Newz is celebrating the launch of Adventure Park with a new Peek-A-Newz. Log in from the front page and find Roberta 5 times each day between 12:00am EST on August 18 until 11:59pm EST on September 2 to collect pieces of three Webkinz Newz exclusive Adventure Park outfits!
Each day runs from 12:00am EST until 11:59pm EST. Limit of one prize per Webkinz World account per day. Prize will be a random item from the prize pool. Some items are more rare than others.

Ugh. Kinda frustrated with Ganz over having to re-adopt pets and must have ALL of them to access the entire Adventure Park.
The only plus side to it is that the only pet I have already is the Koala which was one of my first 10 pets.

moms – I have nooo idea. I’ve read a little bit about it but think that the details are still very foggy for everyone. Even if I’m able to find these pets, I’ll be waiting a bit until all the bugs are worked out before adopting.

when you first started deluxe it was super cool!! now i mean the VERY beginning. they gave away rare stuff, you got goodies. it was much more worth it…now their too greedy. i do LOVE the wheel of deluxe. and the prize at the beginning is good too, but ya know. . . it IS good in that it almost pays for itself after a year.

I adopted a spotted leopard with OUT the adventure tag and it worked..I have done 8 out of 11 quests so far..it is slow going and tiring! I did however win some stuff in there already and thought I would let you all know some of those items!

@ RF…I have been around, but no one is on here as late as I usually come on! I feel like I am talking to myself..lol and what new friend?? lol you mean my old school friend? if so NO he lives in Maine…lol but I am organizing a huge meet and greet in Sept, for all people that went to my old school…Very small town.. and got people of all ages coming ! my home town is kinda dying out, so we are trying to revive some interest there! Today is going to be a busy busy day for me. Need to make a run to the grocery store here in a sec to get a few things I need for my pumpkin bread and blueberry muffins to enter into the Exhibition (think local county fair) competition! I have to go pick at least 2+ cups of blueberries in the field next to ours which is FULL of wild blueberries!
Then this afternoon/evening between 1pm-8pm I have to take both of those baked goods down to the exhibition grounds along with 4 photographs I plan on entering in competitions as well.
Wish me luck! I’d like to win a couple ribbons! 🙂

When you adopt an Adventure Park Series Pet, not only will you unlock the ability to play quests in the Adventure Park, but you’ll also unlock a special quest that you can send to an Adventure Friend. Mini-Quests are so much fun – and if your friend has an Adventure Pet, they’ll be able to do the mini-quest you send them – and you’ll both win the same super-cool prize! Recipe: Pork roast with caramelized parsnips
Martha Stewart
Ingredients
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
1 teaspoon whole fennel seeds
1 teaspoon finely grated orange zest
1 teaspoon coarsely chopped fresh rosemary, plus one sprig (optional)
1 boneless pork loin roast
(21/2 pounds), tied with kitchen twine
11/2 pounds parsnips, peeled and cut into 3-by-1-inch pieces (1/2 inch thick)
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425°. Coarsely grind 2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, the fennel seeds, orange zest, and chopped rosemary in a mini chopper or a spice grinder. Rub spice mixture all over pork, and insert rosemary sprig under twine. Transfer to a large, heavy ovenproof skillet (preferably cast iron) or a roasting pan.
Roast pork for 20 minutes. Toss parsnips with oil and ½ teaspoon salt; arrange around pork. Roast for 20 minutes. Stir parsnips. Roast until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of pork reaches 140°, about 15 minutes more. Transfer pork and parsnips to platter, and let pork rest for 10 minutes before untying and slicing. (If parsnips are not uniformly golden, return to oven for 5 minutes while pork rests.)
Tips
Parsnips are narrow at one end and thick at the other. To cut uniform sticks (which will cook at the same rate), slice three inches from the tip of each, and then halve or quarter the thick end. As the pork cooks, it will release its juices into the skillet, flavoring the pieces.

Hey! Krafty, I have actual Adventure Park tagged pets, but untagged pets will work too since there isn’t an Adventure Park code…the code that activates Adventure Park is the adoption code.
To answer your other question, existing pets that were already adopted will not work in Adventure Park. I already had most of these pets and of course I tried them out before I adopted the AP pets and they didn’t work.
The mini quest can be sent only to someone who has AP access, that is, someone who has adopted one of the six AP pets since yesterday. Only your friends who have AP pets logged in will be on your “send a quest to” list. I have all of my accounts friended to each other. I have adopted two AP pets so far, and on each account, only the other AP account showed up. So I wouldn’t be able to send anyone a mini quest unless they had an AP pet already, which is a bummer. 🙁
I am sending something to Kinzheads though. I finished the piny pony quest, yippee! I was allowed to go dig up all the dig spots before I got the grand prize, and I got six more Nibbles bobbleheads, which I certainly will not need, ha! So I am sending half to Kinzheads for you guys to give away. I imagine once I finish up the other quests I will have many more duplicates, so never fear, if you can’t get an AP pet, I’ll try to hook you ladies up with some stuff. 😀

momskinz, parsnips are like pale sweet carrots. i like them roasted along with whatever meat or other root vegetables. the shoots & leaves can give one a rash but usually i only see the root part in the market.

thankfully it turned out that i have some talent. Before I was married, I actually was paid to cater a few parties. Not big time fancy waiter stuff, just prepare and bring food. I started out doing fancy cakes and switched to foodstuffs. If I was young, I would so be in a chef school in Tuscany or something.

i was listening to interviews with alice waters and her chefs (former & current) at chez panisse which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. seems we have traded having good food on the table in the past for packaged food convenience. and picked up a lot more weight and some illnesses along the way as a result. there’s some molecular gastronomy stuff that’s going on in restaurants right now like alinea in chicago but to me heaven is getting served a wonderful old fashioned meal when i go out. your hubby is one lucky guy (and you should remind him of it on your way to your storage closet).
i can make decent meals but i sweat bullets if i have to cook for someone else or have anyone over for dinner so i just sign up for pot lucks where i only need to bring a dish or two.

to explain about m-dog – we don’t feed her people food except for the occasional goldfish cracker, bread crust with peanut butter, dropped pretzel, that kind of thing . . . last night we had breakfast for dinner and had some scrambled egg left – probably less than one egg – so we put it in her food dish and let her eat it . . .
starting this morning as of now, she has puked 9 or 10 times today – you can tell she doesn’t feel well, she hasn’t eaten or anything all day, and it is mostly just liquid/foam, but she has thrown up a lot . . . at what point does she need the vet? i guess i was surprised the last 3 times, i thought she was finished, now tonight she has still thrown up 3 more times, and they weren’t ‘small’ . . . she isn’t playful or anything, she perked up a little when she saw a squirrel outside, then she went right back to lie down instead of running around like she usually does . . .
and by the way, i would give it until tomorrow & use my instinct with the kiddos, but i’m just trying to confirm my instinct with my fur baby since i have less experience with the 4-legged kiddos

I’m worried about Ms. M-dog! After dealing with June’s projectile vomiting and explosive poops a few weeks ago… I know that it’s NO fun! I worry about these girls as if they were people. 🙁

Well…… April is always the one with sad eyes and acts totally embarrassed after she makes a mess…. but June on the other hand can be covered in poop, wagging her tail like crazy, looking happy as can be, almost proud of her poop covered self and use her tail as a paintbrush leaving me some nice ‘artwork’ to clean up after her!
This last time when June got sick.. the mess was so bad that I literally just laughed. Not that it was funny….. but more so that it was unbelievable how much there was!!!! 😯

cwc – With my two dogs… I almost want to check myself into an insane asylum sometimes because I swear they are making me go NUTS.
You also risk the chance of getting a ‘lemon’ like April who has nothing but health trouble. Consider that when looking at dog breeds too. Some have way more health/allergy problems than others.

i TOTALLY agree alisha…i’ve been thinking of a yorkie, or a morkie or yorktese? not sure which is the proper name. but my neighbor has 2 of the yorkies, so i need to check with them. and my little one might be allergic now. i was thinking smaller dog maybe easier to take core of. idk…i need help already (in the head you know) why do i want to add to it…for my kids? they drive me crazy enough. 😆

i know people with teacup yorkies that say they are VERY VERY VERY hard to ‘potty train’ – like 2 year old dogs that are not trained yet . . . but if i had one that small, i would so potty pad train it anyway so it didn’t have to go outside

oh that IS a good idea moms!!! a potty pad…i wonder if i could stand it. i have been thinking about dirty feet going in and out of the house how ever many times a day it goes outside. i don’t know if i can handle it. when i had the jack russell i would wash his feet before he came back inside. he was a PSYCHO dog for real doh!!

cwc – Moms is right about potty training little dogs. I don’t know about ALL little dogs being that hard to train but have heard a LOT of complaints from friends with little dogs that had the same trouble.
If you are stuck on a smaller dog and have the slightest suspicion about your little one having an allergy to them…. perhaps you should consider a dog with a ‘hypoallergenic coat’ like a Bichon Frise?

rash, i think you missed my post (#149). i like your room. i also agree, if you want to help your friend with correct advice, ask your parents. if you just want to be there for them, just offer your sympathy.
poor doggie and poor moms. my sis fostered then adopted a pup from the shelter, ended up with $2000 in vet bills (skin infections, gyn issues, etc). they adore rosie, she’s like family now but hadn’t expected how much it cost or the time involved (one time my brother in law was so sleepy but wanted to take out rosie before she had an “accident”-they had to walk her every 2 hours ’round the clock-he couldn’t figure out why his pants didn’t fit, turns out he was putting on my sis’ pants by mistake).
rf, what i heard is any of the 8 listed pets for adventure park, with or without the adventure park tag, as long as it’s adopted on 8/3 or later will have access to the park.

okay, the e-vet kept Millie for the night, dh is on his way home
the x-rays were inconclusive, but they still suspect an obstruction
they want to keep pushing the IV fluids in hopes that if it is an obstruction hopefully she can pass it tonight . . . and they want to keep her on the anti-naseau meds & slight sedative to help her relax in hopes that helps . . .
that’s what we need to pray for if anyone sees this tonight, please – that she passes whatever it is without surgery
boy oh boy, this night just cost us $1k – that sure would buy a lot of Webkinz – it’s a good thing we love her so . . . 😉

moms – Oh MAN! So sorry about Millie! I’m hoping you update us with good news this morning that she passed whatever was giving her all the trouble and she didn’t have to have surgery. I hesitated saying obstruction last night but did so anyway because that’s what it sure sounded like. 🙁 June went through the same symptoms when she swallowed part of her Penguins collar but was eventually able to bring it back up.
Ohhhh fur baby Millie girl….. what are we gonna do with you! It’s a good thing you are super duper adorable and well loved by your skin family.
Many prayers said and fingers/toes are crossed!! April and June say they have their paws crossed for M-dog too. ♥

Speaking of dogs – I woke up to the sound of June chewing something this morning and it didn’t sound like her Nylabone. My feet hit the floor at exactly 5:48am and out I come into the living room where I see June with her crate tray slid 3/4 of the way out with her CHEWING ON IT!
Somehow the little genius (and I use that word very loosely) has figured out how to get the latch down that holds the tray in so she can slide it out and start gnawing away. 😯 😡
I can see that I’ll be buying her a new tray in the very near future. 🙄

okay, this vet said he likes pumpkin better than applesauce, but since the store was out of it ❓ is there an epidemic of dog obstructions b/c it sure isn’t pumpkin pie season ????
okay, back on track, i bought a big jar of our natural applesauce for tomorrow
she’s still on the iv – since i incurred all possible expenses already, our vet said they would keep her until this evening to continue pushing the iv fluids
tonight we can start her on a little oral water, if she keeps that down, then tomorrow morning a little chicken & rice – any pukeage, and we need to get her to the vet before 1 pm tomorrow for them to keep her over the weekend on the iv
she was sweet this morning but still puny, but they said she was more spunky and whining when anyone walked by her when i went back to check on her a little while ago (i didn’t let her see me because that would just be mean to her)

I already got a red lava from another pair of plumpies {I had 3,one was a trade with lizzie,another was from wz jeans,and another was from my chocolab psi},but I traded for wz jeans cause the jeans are more valuable in the tr and on ws,they are prettier too =D

you can still do the peeks in multiples. just click on the little circle with the arrows to refresh the code before submitting it. works best in firefox. had to restart my ‘puter between accounts for some reason. like chant said, rarest are the diving helmet, cloud dress and hunter top.
i missed my friend but couldn’t he have returned one day later after i get a couple of wackyer’s in? lol, i’ll just have to try sneaking a game or two here and there to get a set. i was hoping one game=one set of wacky pants, shirt, shoes and hat.
