The jaguar is one of the rarest of the big cats. This unfortunately is due to human intervention. One cause is the destruction of the jaguars environment from deforestation for mining and timber. Some have also been hunted to protect livestock. A greater cause, however, is the fact that this beautiful cat has been an unfortunate victim of the fur trade. Beginning in the early 1900’s, large scale hunting and export of jaguar pelts has greatly reduced the population. Although there was a decline in the 60’s, the number of pelts exported was still high ( as many as 13, 516 in 1968 for example). Although the jaguar was put on the endangered species list in the 1970’s

I really wish I had my act together and got here to chat more. (just complaining to myself there)
We stopped at a local store and picked up a Okapi for $5. It is our only plush purchase in a long while. Still not even $5 is in our budget. We are in a buy it when “Need” it mode, not buy it when want it mode. We love the new scotty dog. Me being part Scot and all, I hope JR can get it. We will be watching the same store to see if they mark anything else down. We do not live near to a Carlton Cards (American Greetings). We’ll have to check out Justice.
EVERY retailer I speak with says that Webkinz sales are WAY down. Economy? or slumping interest? I think there are just too many plush out there every month.
I know we would buy 3 or 4 a month if we could.
I hope that everyone has working AC and is getting to the pool. (Our plan later today.)
Question? Is there a Wacky Zingo Summer Festival coming? I have not read about it yet.

Unless you want a Magic Maple Tree from last year, do NOT purchase and enter and create the June Caring Valley Tree code. The pic from the WKN site shown with the turtle is NOT NOT NOT the tree you will get. They know about the issue but are NOT going to do anything about it. They are leaving that ad AND the June email showing the Magic Maple as is.. let them know that is like false advertising and when people BUY the CV expecting the pretty lilac tree with tree house and newpaper stand they WILL be getting angry calls… the customer service rep I spoke with didn’t care and was a bit miffed I had bothered her with this issue.

dh is off this weekend, starting thursday. soooooo it makes it VERY difficult to have any computer time when were having family time. weekends for us together don’t come that often bc of his work schedule. i mean we see him everyday. Yesterday was the last day of lobster season, so work at the tank shop has been steady. Plus we have been working hard to get the coop done. Tomorrow it should be completely finished! Hallelujah!

So ticked.
I’m probably gonna fail my drama class because my teacher is an unreasonable… ok, i wont say it. Today was the seniors last day and for their final they had to give a goodbye speech to the drama class, the teacher ended up making that the final for everyone. I waited til almost everyone was done and when i was getting up to walk on stage 3 girls decided that they wanted to give a speech together. Thats fine, i jsut sat down and i was gonna go after them. Then right when they were walking off stage and i was walking up to the stage the teacher said that all the seniors needed to get on stage. Really? After that i walked over to the teacher and told her that i didnt get to do my speech because she called all the seniors on stage. She told me that she didnt believe that i was gonna do a speech anyways, so it didnt matter. REALLY? You’re just going to tell your student that you dont believe that they will do their final so it doesnt matter if they get a chance to or not? Well thanks (insert teachers name here), thank you for showing me how much you care about your students.
Then we went back to the classroom, but almost every was in the hall except for my friends. I went up to her and asked if i was going to be able to do my final or not, she said ‘no, you missed your chance to, you’ll just take the F now’ Missed my chance? I didnt even get the chance because i was walking up to the stage and you called all the seniors up there! Then we both ended up yelling and i swore a few times so she told me to go to the office. I ended up just waiting outside in the hall with everyone else because there was only a few minutes of class left.

The worst part is that i didnt even get the chance to say goodbye to some of my friends in that class because they are seniors. Today was their last day and i’ll probably never see them again. One of them is having a graduation party next month and im going, and so are a few of my friends. But what about the others? The teacher sent me out of the room so i couldn’t say goodbye.
I’m more upset about not getting so say goodbye, then i am about the possibility of failing that class.

Flow~ I didn’t do the lip sync performance (bit part of our grade) The final is only worth 20%, but because i pretty much failed the final, its possible that i could fail that class. i’ll attempt to talk to my teacher tomorrow, but considering that shes ticked off at me for no reason, she kicked me out of class today, and shes hated me all year, i doubt it will do anything.
Big Oompa~ you have no idea how many times i’ve looked up old nick shows on youtube. There have been quite a few times where i’e stayed up past 4am watching them. Just trying to relive my childhood through youtube.

I actually really wanted to give that speech too. I wanted to be able to thank all the seniors in that class for making me laugh everyday in that class. Wanted to thank the 3 idiots for putting on booty shorts yesterday and dancing to Blow by Ke$ha yesterday in front of about 400 people, because that seriously made my day and they were hilarious. Choco, please involve the principal and the counselor, have them go WITH you to the teacher, she can not, not allow you to “take” the final. When you talk to them, and the teacher, be sure to be calm and collected and don’t let her get you going, show maturity and they will get you your chance.

Pat Catans had most of the June webbies, here is my take on them
pink and white cat… awful! It looks so cheap because of the specific materials used, thus when packaged like they do 6 per poly bag or could be 12, they are mashed badly making them more not cute
pink dog.. rubs me the wrong way and that takes a LOT for a dog to do, if it was an alien dog.. MAYBE.. but.. ewww
Peacock, pretty though wish they would give them LONG legs, colors lovely!
pony, a little on the stocky side unlike the old pink pony which looks more delicate, still pretty girlie colors, lol and will stand up which I like a lot
the scotty pup body is very nice, the fuzzy part is all messed up, I think with brushing it can be fixed nicely
they did not have the jaguar but that is a must have for me as I have all the other sig cats, they should have stuck with the endangered for this last pet as the RL one is engandered.
That one store would not honor their price matching for the Justice sale flyer so will try another PatCatans and if that doesn’t work I will call HQ and shop at Justice, lol
