Ole – Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for “fifth of May”) is a holiday held on May 5. It is celebrated nationwide in the United States and regionally in Mexico, primarily in the state of Puebla. The date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride, and to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War. In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Cinco de Mayo is NOT Mexico’s Independence Day, the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico, which occurs on September 16th. Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that is virtually ignored in Mexico.

I missed the first episode of The Voice, but I’m going to try and watch it online tomorrow. It was just one of the blind audition rounds so I didn’t miss much.

I finished my flower bed yesterday afternoon/evening. Still have to fill it with perennials, but that’s the fun part!!!!! 😀
Pouring the rain here today….. hoping for better weather ASAP so I can get out there and finish my chicken coop. The chickies are getting HUGE! They’ll be 5 weeks on Sunday and we haven’t done anything to the coop in WEEKS! 😯 Time is clicking by too fast.

dee, your light fuschia sounds fine as do your summer shoes. I had a Creative Nail Polish eons ago that was something ‘fuschia’; absolutely LOVED the color. Typically, any nail polish, make-up, mascara, or lipstick I completely love is discontinued after a couple years. 🙄

I just bought all of them. Polar plunge is faster, which I like. Smoothie moves is the best (just bought it yesterday). The memory game is good too, earns lots of KC. Cash Cow could use some work. Momz~ My friend has her license, but she doesn’t have a car or a job. Another one of my friends has a car, license, and a job, but she got a job at McDonald’s during that nation wide hiring thing so i doubt that i could get a job there.
My mom says that she wont let me drive until i can pay for everything myself, but to be able to do that i would need a job and to be able to get a job i need to drive *bangs head against wall* Right now i would just be fine with a permit, i dont really need a license right away i guess. She thinks that if i just get a permit then i’ll need a car and need to be able to pay insurance and all that stuff, but i wont need any of that until i actually get my license, but the way its going now thats never gonna happen. My dad wants me to be able to drive.

With my bonus spree roll, I moved one space, got to a stop sign. Played the game and got three stop signs in a row. That’s what I call rigged. The odds are lame:

Boper~ I win almost every time with that stop sign game. I always pick the card on the far right and pay attention what car/shopping bag i click on when i’m guessing where the color goes. Like if i tired red on the one on the right and it doesn’t work, i know that red must be one of the other 3 cars/shopping bags.

At my school, you can only drive yourself (and park) if your a junior or senior. So, if your a sophomore and you have a car, too bad, cause you can’t drive it to school. That’s what when I get a car I am going to get it in Junior year. good thing I have an older brother (one year older) who can just drive me.

Don’t you get a permit at 15.5? And then you can only drive with an adult and family, and you have to stay in the state.
At 16 you can drive with family and one friend, I think, and anywhere you want.
At 16.5, you can drive with anyone, anywhere.

They just passed some new laws here for underage drives. You can only have one other underage person in the car (immediate family members dont count) unless you are on your way to, or coming back from school or a school activity. And theres a few other new laws that i dont remember.

You need to take drivers ed to get the permit. 14 and 9 months in the minimun age for a permit in Michigan. I remember last year everyone kept talking about how they were taking drivers ed and how they just got their permits. And i was just ticked about it because my mom wouldnt let me.

Wow. In my state, you can get a “permit” without Drivers ed. That’s what my brother did. Through his birth certificate in the glove box and he can drive around with a parent until he gets his license.

I just confirmed with my brother – you don’t get a permit, but a birth certificate does the job. And yes, in my state, you don’t take driver’s ed until last semester of freshman year, but you can drive at 15.5, and since my brother’s bday is in October, he could driver in April, before Driver’s ed.

They go by your grade? Here it goes by age, not grade. Most people i know did wait until the last trimester of our freshman year (we’re on trimesters at my school) but i could’ve taken drivers ed before my freshman year even started because my bday is in october. I know that they put you behind that wheel within the first few days of starting drivers ed, so yeah, it is kinda young if you start as soon as you can.

Well we take drivers ed through the school, its an elective I believe. So… you can take drivers ed on the first semester after your 15.5 I believe, so… that could be as early as last trimester, or first tri of sophomore. Or even later…

well not too surprised but the plans made for tomorrow (today) have fallen apart and to top it off, after most every one that could possibly be called to maybe help out was already asleep.. sister has more big secret plans that must not be messed with.. picking up FFQ from a school dance and me not be back from 50 miles away within minutes of the pick up will totally foul her plans and she would be stuck

Heading to town in a little bit to get milk, eggs (hurry up, chickies!), and some bread. Might stop at the greenhouse and see if they have anything that catches my eye. 😀
BTW – Don’t know if it’s just my computer, or WKN or what….. but I was NOT having luck finding the elephant on the peek-a-newz this morning. The only one I found her on was my main window and never even saw her on the other 4 I had open. Hmm.
