I was arguing with my dad about her when i found her. I had put her in the hamsterball because i needed to clean her cage and then my dad started to argue with me saying that i never take care of the mouse and then when i brought the cage back into my room she was in the ball with a wierd look on her face. When i opened the ball she just jumped into the cage and died right there. 😥

I keep feeling like its my fault. I think there might have been something in that ball that killed he because she was fine before. I don’t put her in there often because i usually put her in the top of the cage while i clean the rest out. But last week i forgot to put paper in the top after and it because a top mess because there was no paper so i had to wash it out today. I put her in the ball because there was nowhere else to put her, but if i would’ve put paper in there last week, i wouldn’t have had to put her in the ball. Or maybe if i hadn’t been so lazy and actually clean out the ball first. It looked pretty clean, but i found it in my brothers room and its used for his mouse too. I miss Dumbo!

mice don’t have a long life span anyway, sadly, but it didn’t sound like she was in there very long and even if the other mouse did have a virus etc it wouldn’t have an effect that fast and not likely to be fatal that fast. Sounds more like a heart attack or a stroke from your description

This is just not a good day for the mice. Earlier mine died and now i’m really worried about my brothers mouse. There is this giant wheel that was at the top of her cage that she runs in but apparently my brothers mouse has been stuck there for awhile and no one knew about it (he doesn’t really take care of the mouse) but my mom found her and thats a good thing because she probably would’ve been dead soon if she didn’t. Now her neck is crocked (sorta) she leans it to one side and she looks off balance, she couldn’t even find her water bottle by herself so my mom picked her up and put her by the water bottle and she just drank for a while. Now she is walking in circles and looks off balance. I had to take the wheel off her cage and switched it with the top from my cage.

My dad was complaining about how we don’t take care of the mice and we shouldn’t even have them. My brother doesn’t take care of his mouse very well but i always took care of mine. When mine was in that ball and looked weird, my dad just said that she wanted out. No, its not that she wanted out, its that she was dying! When i opened that ball she jumped out and just died in that cage right in front of me, that was my pet! I took care of her, and after she died he just said, ‘oh, sorry’ and i just sat there crying for about 30 minutes over it. I don’t care if she was just a mouse, she was my pet. He might be able to say that my brother doesn’t take care of his but he can’t say that i didn’t take care of mine!

I am so sorry for your bad day and the loss of your pet mouse, Choco. For thsoe of us whose pets are part of our family and not just an animal we care for, they are part of our hearts and when they pass away it truly and deeply hurts over the loss, regardless of what species they are/were.
