They tried it at my sons school & I put up such a stink that when it cold they don’t go outside. I told them it was too darn cold to have the kids out it. Especially when some of them don’t have real winter coats because it’s hardly ever cold.

I have a favor to ask my friends here, I need new suggestions for Christmas movies and your favorite Christmas CDs.
I LOVE Christmastime! We go a bit crazy with the movies and music, but keep sane on spending. BIg on enjoyment, not big on commmercialization. Anyway… We try to watch new Chrsitmas movies every year and as soon I get “ELFâ€, I am out of ideas for movies. We have 30 Christmas movies and cartoons. I will not let JR watch movies like “Scrooged†(Bill Murray) or “Jingle All the Way†(Arnold the Terminator). I was embarrassed at the amount of bad (swear/curse) words when we watched Chevy Chase in “Christmas Family Vacationâ€. So, please keep the ideas for family viewing. I am not interested in “DieHard†type ideas that happen at Chrsitmastime. JRsMom ruled out repeated viiewings of “Home Aloneâ€, due to the violence. (Yes, we are pretty conservative.)
If you have a CD or movie to recommend please put “Hey JRsDad, Hey JR or Hey Dad†in your comment and from now until the 25th, I will search for any sugggestions. I will type up and list our movies, some are quite old, but sweet and wonderful. I will not list my Christmas CDs (I have 84 and counting).But, I am always looking for great Chrsitmas music. So… thanks for any suggestions. I’ll try to list my movies soon with my comments for you all.

we had been out searching for a white blouse for FFQ for her band concert next Monday… one would think it to be NOT hard to find a black skirt and a white blouse..
that would be very WRONG to think that

I’m back! Hey JrsDad!! dd1 cut all the attached lights off her pre-lit tree this year too. I don’t know that I can get mine off. The pre-lit in the master bedroom was mostly burnt out too. I was afraid to use it with so many lights burnt out, so I didn’t plug that part in. Strung all new lights the old fashioned way. That tree is only 6′. The big one is 7 1/2′ and … shall we say ‘full’? I do it all myself; it’s a challenge.

We love decorating, but usually go out of town to visit parents for the week of Christmas, so if we do not enjoy the tree and lights the next three weeks, it is over too fast.

Are you familiar with the funny version of The Twelve Days of Christmas? I’m the dude with the light issues. I LOVE lights and get completely carried away. You walk through my house; flip switches, clap your hands, or step on buttons and lights come on all over the place in garlands, trees, wreaths, vases of holly, etc. My grands go bonkers. I have it so you can stand in the hallway, clap your hands and the trees in the bedrooms all light up. LOL

I missed so much (and JR has missed so much webkinz) as our PC went on the fritz for about three weeks. I finally had to wipe and reload everything.
We have only bought two lil’ kinz from Walgreen’s 2 for $5 sale. JR has a want list a mile long from last May. Hard to decide what he should get him for Christmas. Probably the Minty Moose, maybe the Halloween Nightmare and a hamster.
The Wish of the Day thing is new as are a couple other things in WK.

dd1 use to put the lights on our big tree prior to pre-lit ones; also prior to her having her own house and family. Tho’ last year I was so sick leading up to Christmas, I wasn’t going to do the big tree. She had a fit and both girls came over to help put up the tree. dd1 added more lights to fill in the burnt out sections.

Nice adoptions. It was hard enough to buy more than two webkinz a monthe BEFORE three of them were signature. I do nt know how anyone can afford a Signature, a small singanture and a Signature Endangered each monht.
Some of the regular webbies have been really cute. JR likes the ice dragon tha is coning out. I prefer the dogs (and he does like the dogs too.) The Sag. Buck is really nice. We have never bought estore virtual only pets, but we drool. 🙂

i bought a tree that was not prelit and had a decorator light it strand by strand my way nine years ago – he ran a cord up the middle of the tree and plugged in each strand separately so i could just replace one strand – it was the best! it’s just that this year, the dh thinks the lights might not have survived this move (he finally mumbled something about him dropping a section during the move 😕 ), so we bought a live tree as a treat in the new house, and i’ll plug in the other to see if it survived to be the basement tree 🙂

a tree in the basement is nice. Nothing like admiring the lit tree when all the work and all the day is done.
my hobby is enjoying JR’s hobby (webkinz). I do not golf. wish I had the time and $. I coach JR in sports nad we have cub scouts. My only hobbies other than webkinz and gymbos are reading (I LOVE TO READ!) and listening to music. I don’t even play the guitar anymore.

My dad has ALWAYS bought live trees. and that is where we will end up on Christmas day! I tried to talk him out of it this year, but he will just get a “small” 6 foot tree instead of his usual monster tree.

this is our first time having a vaulted ceiling in the family room, so we wanted to go bigger . . . it will definitely be our only live tree – we’ll probably put up 3 or 4 small trees, too – just little ones, though, and i guess the boys will want their little trees in their rooms – we ended up with 7 one year . . . the thing is, as my mother, grandmother, and a great family friend downsized, they gave us some little trees, so we have been given every one of those little trees, so we came up with our own decorations and themes

I love reading and music too! the dgds keep me hopping running to soccer/basketball/softball and football to watch our cheerleader. Last year dgs was in cub scouts and did the derby. The one where the boys make their car out of wood. He made it to the county races, then was beat. He didn’t mind tho’ ’cause he wanted his car back; the officials keep the car between races.

Gramma – this sounds like us with only JR.
soccer/basketball/BASEball and cub scouts Pinewood Derby! Lots of fun.
I am a den leader of 12 boys. I wish I was just a normal spectator parent some times.
We start the basketball season soon and indoor soccer starts in January. Saturday basketball, Sunday Soccer, Monday scouts. Tuesday – Bible study.. Wednesday …breathe!!!

i just love how on a live tree there are some ‘fingers’ that poke out, then one little branch that is growing this way, and it’s just so perfectly not perfect and reminds me how much God must love us to take the time to create something so beautiful for us . . . he didn’t just give us the stump to help us breathe – he gave us something wonderful . . .

That is really wonderful. I am so glad for such improvement and that the doctors decided NOT to go for the Guiness Record for consecutive surgeries. So glad that is at an end.
I will remember to keep praying for her. I know the PT is rough.
