Triceratops
Dinosaurs are a diverse group of reptiles. They were the dominant terrestrial vertebrates for over 160 million years, from the late Triassic period (about 230 million years ago) until the end of the Cretaceous period (about 65 million years ago), when the Cretaceous–Tertiary extinction event caused the extinction of most dinosaur species, except for some birds. The fossil record indicates that birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs during the Jurassic period, and most paleontologists regard them as the only group of dinosaurs to have survived until the present day.

Spent most of yesterday in the hospital with my dad, who had some surgery on his toes. He’ll be fine and right as rain in about a month.

I usually clean the house some on the day he leaves, rest for a few days and then clean the rest the day before he comes home. April and I definitely have some lazy days. 😆 That’s the only plus of him being gone I suppose! 😉

its been our house since it was a kitten. It will let my mom and dad pet it but not me. When he was a kitten my sister didn’t want me to hold him (I WAS 5!!) so I grabbed him and we dropped him.

I have never had venison. I do like buffalo and caribou. dh eats that stuff and moose. I ask what it tastes like and he says a little gamey. He can not describe what gamey means. It does not sound like a nice word to me.

last nite I went to bad and saw the last twenty minutes of Forrest Gump (where he finally meets up with Jenny and they get married) I just boo hooed like mad.
This summer The Notebook came on tv and dd and I watched it and I cried thru about half of it. My MIL has ahlzheimers and all I could think about was her.
dd still makes fun of me for crying at the end of Charlottes web. She sees it positive because of the baby spiders and I just cry because the mama died.

We have lots of foreign dictionaries in our house as I believe the young exposure is important to future learning. We have sign language, spanish, italian, hawaiian, french and inuit.
I have been exposing dd to many languages since she could hold her head up. We shall see what her future holds.

I help with our international festival and the state language tournament. My Professor loves me because I am old and organized and can get the “kids” to do what needs to be done. I also bring cookies and cupcakes to class. LOL – yes I bake my way to popularity.
Each state is different and I totally agree on early exposure, even if it just singing Frere Jacques. If I was twenty years younger and just as knowledgeable, I would make it my career and mission. I have done legislative proposals for programs and all that, but there is no money! FYI- if you want to learn a language or want your kids to learn a language, there are a bunch of really good PBS programs and even most high schools offer off site web based programs where you teleconference your classes.

best language learning depends on person. Some community centers will offer intro classes. I like tapes/cds and kids books. Most libraries are online now where you can order books. Basic picture dictionary references work. Phrase books are handy, but heaven forbid you get to where I am and I need to know which case a verb or noun that is in a subordinating clause with a prepostion (that may or may not be in genitive or dative case dependent upon the preposition used) is accusative, present tense or past imperfect tense. Yes it is that bad. But I love it!

water aerobics, dance, martial arts. One of my best buds started weight watchers in Jan. Totally stinks as she is a baker/candy maker, but she has lost 30 lbs. She walks with her kids (twins) but mostly due to the point thing.
I know us older folk think walking is easier, hard part is finding a bud to do it with. Too bad you are not closer!
