Pie Crust (scratch)

A wonderfully pie crust that goes great with our delicious Pumpkin pie! Made with real pumpkin

1.5 cups flour - all purpose
1/3 cup cold water
3/4 to 1 cup vegetable shortening

Mix the flour and shortening in a bowl or stand mixer. Add the cold water a little at the time checking the consistence, keep in mind you might not need all the water.You want just enough to hold the dough together.

Using a rolling pin place the dough between 2 sheets of wax paper. Roll out the dough to an even thickness about 1/8th of an inch thick, and 1.5 inches wider than your pie pan. 

Place the dough in your pie pan and use your fingers to shape and mold the dough to the pan. This will repair any torn parts in the dough.

Fill with your favorite pie and bake.
